hi everyone!! how are you all doing? this one might be short haha.
we farmed on Thursday!! hahah 고구마순! Sweet potatoes!! it was so crazy, and hot, and we were so sore the next day haha. but it was so awesome! We were doing it for almost 7 hours!!
These are my companions in the middle of it!
We finally watched General Conference here!! It was amazing. ahh, i was so excited to watch it, and it finally happened! and i got to watch it in English!
Some of my favorite parts were :
Thomas S. Monson when he talked in the Sunday Morning Session an he was talking about how "Walking WHERE Jesus walked is less important than walking HOW Jesus walked" Jesus also walked the path of disappointment. He walked the path of temptation. He walked the path of pain. As we walk as Jesus walked, we each will walk these paths as well. But, Jesus also walked the path of prayer. He walked the path of obedience. and following His path, will take us safely home.
One of my other favorite speakers was Jorg Klebingat! I love blunt, honest people. and he definitely was that. It was so amazing. He talked about 6 things that we can do. 1) Take responsibility for you own spiritual well-being. 2) Take responsibility for your own physical well-being 3)Embrace voluntary whole hearted obedience throughout your life. do the right things for the right reasons 4) become really really good at repenting, and quickly. voluntarily and joyfully. 5)become really really good at forgiving 6) accept trials, setbacks, and surprises as part of the experience. Acknowledge and face your weaknesses. Some of them will be your companions until you leave this life. Ahh it was so good haha. All of my conference notes are in my normal cursive except his because i was writing fast, trying to get it all down!
Neill F. Marriott was amazing as well. She quoted Harriet Uchtdorf "You are vibrant and enthusiastic beacons in an ever-darkening world as you show, through the way you live your lives, that the gospel is a joyful message." Her talk made me miss the temple so much!! All of you able to go right now, I hope that you are!! Do not take it for granted!
Last night, we 전도d {proselyted} with the elders and a family history board that we had made, which turned out awesome. I was holding one of the two boards, because I don't speak very much Korean ^^ and the others were talking to people and having them answer a quick survey. Well, one of the elders, also our district leader, takes my board, handsd me the clipboard and a stack of questionares, and says "okay, go" uhmmmm. ^^ i tried to take my board back to no avail. He taught me two simple phrases, and then i was on my own! Not really, he stayed next to me so that they would have a competent person to talk to if they had questions. Anyways, everytime i would turn around uncertain, he would say "You are a daughter of God" haha. After, I was so grateful that he did that. I would not have, if he didn't take my board. When we were about to leave, he says "oh i need a picture!" so he whips out this tripod from his backpack and proceeds to set it up in the middle of the shopping square thing {there is a word for it in Korean, and not in english!} and i just wanted to hide behind the board. It was so funny. ^^
아무튼! this week has been great! and I love being out here! and I miss you all, but I love this work so much, and I am never coming home! ^^ okay, i will eventually. I hope you have a great week!
